Today we celebrated Colin's summer birthday. We celebrated with Krispy Kreme Donuts and a wonderful story, Stone Soup. Happy birthday, Colin!

Learning about maps

We completed our unit on maps today. We located our our city, state, and country on a map. We discussed lots of interesting facts. Look for our packets to come home today!

Guest Storyteller

Hunter Wedel's grandmother visited our classroom today to share some stories
with the children. Mrs. Wedel is a retired teacher and storyteller. Thank you for sharing your love for literature with our class. The children loved it!

Happy Birthday Lucy!

Lucy's summer birthday is July 30th, but we celebrated today!!! We shared Gus' pretzels as a special treat! Mrs. Kraft and Lucy's brother also shared two of Lucy's favorite books! Thank you for visiting our classroom and for the yummy pretzels!

Friday Friends

Thank you to Mrs. Wedel and Mr. Kraft for reading to our class today. We all agreed, after Mr. Kraft sang the words of a book to us, that he's ready for American Idol!

Releasing our ladybugs

Today we released our ladybugs into our peace garden!

Math Stations

We are measuring our bodies, playing math games on the iPads, using pattern blocks, and playing math board games.

We are sad to see them leave, but we know they will do good work in our garden!

Our ladybugs are changing...

Most of our ladybugs have entered into the pupa stage of the life cycle. A few of them have changed into adult ladybugs! We are feeding them a moist raisin and keeping a close eye on their changes.

Measurement

The students are learning about measurement in math. We used a non-standard unit of measurement to measure classroom items. The children worked with partners and recorded their estimations.
